Goyang Stadium East and West Stands

The side stands hold the venue’s widest spread. The block nearest the stage is around 50 m; the far corner is around 132 m. That is a factor of 2.6 — and where you sit along the arc matters far more than which tier you are on. The gap between a stage-end and a corner block within the same tier is bigger than the gap between the two tiers at the same point on the arc.

You pay for that proximity in angle. Seventeen of the 22 sections come out at a strong side angle or worse, and it gets sharper the closer to the stage you are. You are watching across the stage rather than into it, so inward staging and the far end of the deck can be partly hidden.

East and west are structurally mirrored: at the same point on the arc, an E block and a W block work out to essentially the same distance and angle. What is not dependable is which end of the arc the numbering starts from — that can differ by show, so read your position off the concert’s own seating map rather than inferring it from the block number.

Frequently asked questions

East side or west side?

On distance and angle, effectively identical — the two arcs are mirrored, so equivalent positions compute the same. Real differences come from the show, not the building: a stage set off to one side, or a speaker tower or camera platform that only blocks one side.

Are the blocks nearest the stage the good ones?

It depends what you came for. They are the closest stand seats at about 50 m, and also the sharpest angle in the venue. Good if you want the performer close; less good if you want to take in the staging as a whole.

Second tier or third?

At the same point on the arc, not a big difference. Distance here is set by how far around from the stage you sit, not by which deck you are on. The upper tier gives you a clearer sightline over the crowd but is steeper, and railings can cut into the view in some upper rows.
