Where to Wait Before a Concert at Goyang Stadium

For the two or three hours before a show, it is easier to spend the wait in the cafe-dense Jeongbalsan (정발산), Lafesta (라페스타), and Lake Park (호수공원) area than right outside the stadium, then take the 057 bus or a taxi over. The area closest to the stadium, around Daehwa Station (대화역), has few large cafes suited to a long sit. To avoid missing entry, leave the cafe and start moving 60 to 90 minutes before your entry time.

Outlets and restrooms are available at most of these large cafes, but outlet access varies seat to seat, so if charging matters, check the wall and pillar seats first when you arrive. English menus are not guaranteed, so a translation app helps.

The Cafes by Area#

스퀘어81 (Square81) — best for a long group stay#

Though it sits near Juyeop Station, its scale of about 600 pyeong and varied seating make it comfortable for a group to spend two or three hours. It ranks high among the large-cafe options across the Jeongbalsan area. From a stop near Juyeop Station, take bus 057 or a taxi, about 10 to 15 minutes toward the stadium.

Note: because it is large, popular seats fill fast on a show afternoon. If you need an outlet seat, claim it as soon as you arrive.

왕의커피 본점 (King’s Coffee) and 오베뉴 (Obenue) — two picks at Westerndom#

Both sit in the Jeongbalsan and Westerndom (웨스턴돔) area, so bus 057 reaches the stadium easily. King’s Coffee has wide indoor and outdoor seating, and free parking is noted when you use the Westerndom garage. Obenue has terrace seats and takes reservations, which helps when you are in a group.

Note: when bus timing is awkward, a taxi from Jeongbalsan Station is simpler.

DDNB 일산본점 (DDNB Ilsan) and 플러커피 (Pleu Coffee) — late hours, quiet work#

DDNB Ilsan runs from early morning to 3:00 AM, so it works as a long wait even for an early arrival or a late show, and it sits between Lake Park and Westerndom for a walk before or after. Pleu Coffee is close to Jeongbalsan Station and open to 1:00 AM, suited to sitting quietly with a laptop while you wait.

파르코니도 (Parconido) and 카페 몬타나 (Cafe Montana) — for the space, but taxi only#

Parconido is a large bakery cafe north of Lake Park, and Cafe Montana is a large bakery cafe with a second floor and rooftop. If the space and the bread come first, both are good, but they are farther from the stadium with weaker public-transit links. Plan on a taxi for either.

Getting to the Stadium#

From Jeongbalsan and Lafesta#

• Bus 057 (village bus) runs from Ilsandong-gu Office and the Jeongbalsan Station entrance through Juyeop Station and Daehwa Station toward Goyang Stadium. It is the most straightforward direct route from the Jeongbalsan, Westerndom, and Lafesta cafe cluster.
• Bus 88A (city bus) runs from Jeongbalsan-dong and Bamgasi-maeul through Juyeop Station and Daehwa Station toward Goyang Stadium. It is an alternative to 057 if your cafe is near Jeongbalsan-dong or Bamri-dangil.
• Taxi is about 15 minutes when roads are clear, but far longer when show traffic builds. If you are running late, ride only to Daehwa Station and walk in from Exit 3.

Route numbers and stop locations can change with show-day traffic control, so check live arrivals in a map app just before you leave.

The KINTEX shuttle option#

For some large shows, organizers have run a loop shuttle between GTX-A KINTEX Station (킨텍스역) and Goyang Stadium. This is not a standing route and varies by event, so confirm whether it runs, along with the fare and frequency, through the official notice.

• You just want to sit comfortably — wait at 스퀘어81, then take bus 057 or a taxi
• A Jeongbalsan-area cafe is the point — choose among 왕의커피, 오베뉴, DDNB, or 플러커피, then bus 057
• You want space and a walk — wait at 파르코니도, then take a taxi
• Making entry on time matters most — do your final wait at the Daehwa Station Twosome Place, then walk in from Exit 3

The Daehwa Station Backup#

If reaching the Jeongbalsan area feels like too much, or you just want one last rest before entry, the Twosome Place (투썸플레이스) within walking distance of Daehwa Station is a safe backup. Its two floors make a seat more likely, and it is about 650m, a 10 to 12 minute flat walk, from Daehwa Station Exit 3 to the stadium. It is the surest way to make your entry time without getting caught in the pre-show crowd.

Finding It on the Map#

When you leave the cafe, search not only Goyang Stadium but also the bus stops named Daejung-Jonghap Undongjang (대중·종합운동장) and Goyang Stadium-Ilsanseo-gu Office (고양종합운동장·일산서구청), and compare live arrivals and any detours. On show days, traffic control can move stop locations or reroute buses.

If you are on your own, a cafe with single or counter seats is easiest. With a suitcase, choose a store with a wide entrance and open aisles, and keep your bag beside your seat so you are not in other guests’ way.
