Same-Day Events & Detour Routes (September 5)#

The Lim Young-woong concert at Goyang Stadium ran the same evening. On days a stadium show overlaps, Subway Line 3 at Daehwa Station can get very crowded, so GTX-A and the Juyeop Station detour are the alternatives. For a time-by-time plan, see Sept 5 Goyang Double-Concert Exit Plan.

  • GTX-A KINTEX Station: From Seoul Station (서울역), GTX-A reaches KINTEX Station (킨텍스역) in about 16~17 minutes with no transfers, then it’s a 10-minute walk to Center 2 — no Daehwa Station involved.
  • Subway Line 3 Alternative via Juyeop Station: On Line 3, you can get off at Juyeop Station (주엽역), one stop before Daehwa, and walk 20~25 minutes to Center 2.
  • Airport Transfers: From Gimpo Airport (GMP), take the Seohae Line (서해선) to Daegok Station (대곡역) and transfer to GTX-A for KINTEX Station (approx. 45 minutes).
  • Concurrent KINTEX Exhibition: The 39th Gungdi Pangpang Cat Festa was also running in Hall 10 that day.

On-Site Timeline#

The schedule announced before the show, which was set to start at 18:00:

  • Ticket Box & Merch Booth: 11:00
  • Standing Lineup: 16:00 (2 hours before showtime)
  • Gates: 16:30 (1.5 hours before showtime)
  • Entry Policy: Standing ticket holders who arrived after their lineup time were to lose their number and enter at the back.

Outdoor Stage Survival Guide & Waiting Tips#

Early September in Korea remains hot and humid, and open-air plazas offer little natural shade. These tips apply to future outdoor events at KINTEX:

  • Indoor Waiting Areas: KINTEX Exhibition Center 2 lobby spaces (1st and 2nd floors) are fully air-conditioned and open to the public. Staying indoors or visiting the nearby Hyundai Department Store (KINTEX Branch) helps beat the afternoon heat before queuing.
  • Essential Items to Bring:
    • Stay Hydrated: Rock concerts demand physical stamina. Purchasing bottled water or sports drinks at convenience stores inside Center 2 beforehand is essential.
    • Sun Protection: Sunglasses, hats, suncream, and portable fans are indispensable for outdoor waiting.
    • Raincoats: Umbrellas are banned in standing areas to protect views. Light raincoats should always be packed when clouds are forecast.

Restrooms, Convenience Stores, and Lockers#

  • Digital Lockers: Lockers are located in the 2nd-floor central lobby of Center 2 and near Hall 6 and Hall 10.
    • Locker Fees: Small: 1,000 KRW / Medium: 2,000 KRW / Large: 3,000 KRW
    • Locker Tip: Lockers can fill up early on big event days. When full, smart lockers near Daehwa Station Exit 4 (Keep24) provide secondary capacity.
  • Restrooms: Portable toilets in outdoor plazas draw extreme lines. Indoor restrooms on the 2nd floor of Center 2 offer much quicker access before gate entry.

For more locker details, check out How to Store Luggage When Visiting KINTEX.

Getting Home After the Show#

With a roughly 90-minute set, the show was expected to end around 20:00. The Lim Young-woong stadium concert was also on that evening, so both crowds could hit the Daehwa area at once.

  • GTX-A KINTEX Station: The fastest way back to Seoul Station.
  • Detour via Subway Line 3 (Juyeop Station): Walking to Juyeop Station (주엽역) to board Line 3 keeps you out of the Daehwa Station entrance queue.

Tips for International Visitors#

  • Passport Required: International ticket holders must bring their physical passport or alien registration card (ARC) along with their ticket confirmation for identity verification.
  • Get a T-money Card: Purchase and load a T-money transit card with cash (KRW) at airport convenience stores or subway stations before traveling.

FAQ

What time did the gate open for the concert?

The show was scheduled for 18:00, with gates opening at 16:30. Standing ticket holders were told to line up by number from 16:00.

Where was the KINTEX Outdoor Plaza located?

The Outdoor Plaza (후면광장) was a large open-air venue located behind Halls 6–8 of KINTEX Exhibition Center 2. Being an outdoor stage, weather gear and hydration were essential.

Were other big events in Goyang on the same day?

Yes. On Saturday, September 5, Lim Young-woong played nearby Goyang Stadium and Cat Festa ran in KINTEX Hall 10. When events overlap like this, Daehwa Station can get very crowded, so GTX-A KINTEX Station and Juyeop Station are the usual detours.
